Friendships in Bloom

A day with the Johnstons.

A dear friend of ours from church, Holly, brought her two cute munchkins over to play a few weeks ago. Parker and Brady are two of a kind in their wild ways, while Ainsley & Bailey are sugar and spice and everything nice. Although Brady was being obnoxious, we made the best of a beautiful day. We are elated, for the Johnstons are expecting a 3rd little bundle of joy!

Parker is trying to figure out what on earth is wrong with Brady's big wheel tire!? Brady finds great pleasure in "screeching to a stop", which has caused a huge hole in his front tire.

Flashback #9-Homemade Memories

In early September 2009, Randy and I decided to put our house up for sale with the hopes that we could sell by January. Little did we know that it would only take 5 short days for us to become "homeless". We received a call only days after coming home with Bailey, that we had an offer on our house. We were surprised, nervous, and elated all at the same time. We closed on our house at the end of October, moved in with Wendy and Brian, and at the beginning of November we broke ground on our new home. We moved in at the end of March, which marks one year this month.

The Great Outdoors.

By Far, our favorite place to be is OUTSIDE. Recently, the kids and I took a three hour hike down the creek that runs behind our house. We routinely venture and explore the creek but this day was different. Our goal was to follow the creek as far as we could, which ended up connecting with a bigger creek near by, Childress Creek. These are some of the moments with my children that I hold close to my heart.

This little love is a mess...

...I must confess.

Valentines has never been and never will be my favorite holiday. In fact, I forbid Randy to do anything for me on that day. Why is there a specific day set aside to show love? Shouldn't that be something that is done in our everyday lives? It is so much more fulfilling when acts of love are performed randomly throughout the year. Even though I despise Valentines day, this year I did something special for Randy. I have to give credit where credit is due, which was found in the February issue of the Martha Stewart Living magazine. With my crafty skills, or lack there of these days, I made this accordion style valentines card for my hubby. It was a showcase of tiny heart filled cards & tokens of my admiration and appreciation. Both Brady and Bailey included their expressions of love, while I filled the rest of the pockets with special mementoes. Randy came home from a long day at work to be greeted with love from his family. Shortly after the kids were asleep we engaged in a candlelit dinner which was exactly what we needed, quality time together. I have to admit, this was one of the most unexpected memorable Valentine days yet. May love be with you all...
