I See a Pattern Here!

The other day I had a wild hair to sew Miss Bailey a dress. Totally random, but I found great joy and accomplishment in my new project. After searching with no luck for the perfect pattern at Hobby Lobby, I turned to Etsy. It was super simple, easy, and cheaper. After I purchased the pattern, I was able to print it out and get started.

Brady Bound

March 12th my Dad held a book signing in Brady, Texas for his second book, "Out of Touch". ince my grandparents live there we made a weekend out of the trip spending a little time with everyone. If you are not familiar with my Dad's books and writings, you can visit www.epgarthlearn.com

Also my Dad, Author E.P. "Masters" Garth will be at George's Restaurant in Westrock Centre, 1201 W. Hewitt Drive, April 30, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to autograph copies of his new novel OUT OF TOUCH: A Pat Cassidy Novel. Copies of his first book, OUT OF TOUCH: A Pat Cassidy Novel, will also be available. Free book cover t-shirts with a book purchase while supplies last.

If you have not picked up these books, you are missing out! I am not much of a reader, but they certainly captured my attention. When it was time for me to stop reading for the moment, I found myself wanting to read just one more chapter. Amazed I am at the details, research, time and effort to which was spent creating this masterpiece. I am proud of my father, indeed!

Showing off

My Dad should use this picture for advertising, I mean, how cute is Brady?!

The author himself signing away...

Brady had to take a better look at the book...especially since it was dedicated to him and Bailey!

The only thing missing is my sweet dear sister Kimberly. We love you Aunt Kimmy.

Of course we stopped at the Brady Depot to climb aboard. "Brady Depot" So appropriate. This made Brady's day.

Warrior Dash 2011

Last weekend we traveled to H-town/Conroe for the annual Warrior Dash. Many of Randy's friends participated in the past but this was his first year. Warrior Dash is an extreme run that consists of mud-crawling, fire -leaping and many more intense obstacles. Randy and 3 buddies from high school competed this year together.
I would have been right there with them getting down and dirty, however we brought Brady and Bailey. I just didn't have the heart to leave them with Grandma, G.G. or Mimi again. Dont give me wrong, they are all tremendously helpful, however I start to feel guilty when we are gone so much. About a month ago we attended a Family Life conference in Arkansas and we left the kids here that weekend. Then this weekend Mimi will be watching them as Randy and I compete in the Austin Statesman 10k. I had to pick and choose and the Warrior dash was not a top priority this year.

Right before I took this picture there were a couple of girls in this same spot posing for a picture. Bailey saw them posing and wanted to pose herself. Adorable!

18 MONTHS

Our BABY is 18 MONTHS OLD!

A true angel was born on September 9, 2009. Bailey has been a light in our lives that we never could have imagined. She is full of personality thats for sure! She has quite a vocabulary, saying words like:

Brady
Daddy
Mommy
Chief
Baby
Clean Up
Book
Night Night
Balloon
Bear
More
Bite
Mine
Hi
Bye Bye
poopoo

Many more, I just cant think of them at the moment. I am certainly not rushing potty training, but Bailey has started pointing to her diaper, saying "poopoo". She even tried to take her diaper off one day and opened the potty lid. She is inquisitive, observant, friendly, lovable, and is always willing to give a hug. Bailey is a climber! She climbs on everything! One day she carried her little green stool into our bathroom, set it up against the counter and climbed up to Randy's counter. Little Rascal! Some of Bailey's favorite things are stuffed animals, balloons and bears. She is starting to develop separation anxiety, which she has never had up until this point. If Bailey is hungry, she will eat just about anything you put in front of her. Unlike her brother, she is not a TV watcher at all. She also enjoys being outside and involved with anything that her big brother is involved in, especially when it comes to water, dirt & mud.

4 and a Half

Brady Boy is 4 1/2!

So what are 4 year olds up to these days? Well, Brady lives in Brady's World or in The City of Brady.

He is still very interested in trains, however he has a new found interest in dams and owls. We have spent some time at the library checking out books to feed his interest. His favorite book right now is "The little mouse, the red ripe strawberry and the big hungry bear" By: Audrey and Don Wood. He wanted me to buy "Red Ripe Strawberries" the other day at HEB. Kid you not, he ate the whole carton of strawberries in ONE day! With Brady, he has us read a book to him over and over again until he memorizes it, and then reads it back to us.
Of course, he loves to be outside all the time. Now that the weather is warming up, we take frequent bike rides, walks, and spend time at the creek. I was talking to Brady the other day about turning 5 in September. He turned to me and said "Mommy, I just want to enjoy being 4". He is too dang cute!

Friendships in Bloom

A day with the Johnstons.

A dear friend of ours from church, Holly, brought her two cute munchkins over to play a few weeks ago. Parker and Brady are two of a kind in their wild ways, while Ainsley & Bailey are sugar and spice and everything nice. Although Brady was being obnoxious, we made the best of a beautiful day. We are elated, for the Johnstons are expecting a 3rd little bundle of joy!
"Let's face it, friends make life a lot more fun."
-Charles R. Swindoll

Parker is trying to figure out what on earth is wrong with Brady's big wheel tire!? Brady finds great pleasure in "screeching to a stop", which has caused a huge hole in his front tire.

Flashback #9-Homemade Memories

In early September 2009, Randy and I decided to put our house up for sale with the hopes that we could sell by January. Little did we know that it would only take 5 short days for us to become "homeless". We received a call only days after coming home with Bailey, that we had an offer on our house. We were surprised, nervous, and elated all at the same time. We closed on our house at the end of October, moved in with Wendy and Brian, and at the beginning of November we broke ground on our new home. We moved in at the end of March, which marks one year this month.
